Yoga professional Monette Shuttleworth, 200 E-RYT and 500 RYT, is classically Hatha-trained in the Himalayan Tradition and also holds a Level I Restorative Yoga Certification. She will guide us through this monthly Yin Yoga session providing background, support tips and answering any questions. We will meet on the 3rd Thursdays of every month. Yin Yoga is slow-paced and meditative in nature and serves to complement to more active yoga (Yang) styles. Yin Yoga emphasizes passive postures held for several minutes at a time, with muscles in a relaxed state. The connective tissue in and around the muscles and joints is targeted. Ultimately, Yin Yoga promotes the vitality, hydration, mobility and strength of the connective tissue. It also enhances a balanced flow of energetic circulation leading to a state of calmness, contentment and an overall lasting feeling of relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat, a pillow, and beach towel to support your practice. Registration required to get Zoom link. Registration is for the entire series and you need not cancel unless you are cancelling for the whole series.
Virtual Yin Yoga will be conducted via the free video conferencing software Zoom and a Library staff member will be supervising the session. The Librarian coordinating the event will email each registrant a Zoom meeting invitation before the start of the program. Zoom is available as a free desktop (for Windows, MacOS, and Linux Operating systems) and mobile application for Android and Apple iOS devices. Once Zoom is installed, you will be able to join the virtual Library program.

June 20 - A Peculiar Combination / Ashley Weaver Electra McDonnell and her family earn their living breaking into the homes of the rich and picking the locks on their safes. Uncle Mick receives a tip about a safe full of jewels in the empty house of a wealthy family, he and Ellie can’t resist. All goes as planned - until the pair are caught red-handed. They are delivered to a large townhouse, where government official Major Ramsey is waiting with an offer: Either Ellie agrees to help him break into a safe and retrieve blueprints that will be critical to the British war effort, or he turns her over to the police. Ellie has no choice but to do her bit for King and country. When she and the major break into the house in question, they find instead the purported German spy dead on the floor, the safe already open and empty. Soon, Ellie and Major Ramsey are forced to put aside their differences to unmask the double-agent. (2021)
July 18 - Chocolate Chip Murder / Joanne Fluke While trying to avoid her mother's matchmaking schemes, Hannah Swensen stirs up trouble when she investigates the murder of her punctual delivery man whose body was discovered behind her bakery surrounded by her world-famous chocolate chip cookies. (2000)
August 15 - Shiver / Allie Reynolds When Milla accepts an off-season invitation to Le Rocher, a cozy ski resort in the French Alps, she's expecting an intimate weekend of catching up with four old friends. Yet no sooner do Milla and the others arrive for the reunion than they realize something is horribly wrong. Inside the hotel, detailed instructions await them: an icebreaker game, designed to draw out their secrets. A game meant to remind them of Saskia, the enigmatic sixth member of their group, who vanished the morning of the competition years before and has long been presumed dead. All she knows is that there's no one on the mountain she can trust. And if Milla's not careful, she could be the next to disappear. (2020)
September 19 - Do No Harm / Dawn Eastman Emma loves her life. She’s the mother of a precocious kindergartener, married to her soulmate—a loyal and loving police detective—and has a rewarding career as a doctor at the local hospital. But everything comes crashing down when her son, Josh, is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Determined to save him, Emma makes the risky decision to sell opioids to fund the life-saving treatment he needs. But when somebody ends up dead, a lethal game of cat and mouse ensues, her own husband leading the chase. With her son’s life hanging in the balance, Emma is dragged into the dark world of drugs, lies, and murder. (2018)
