Zumba

A spirited blend of cardiovascular dance, ballet, yoga, Meditation. The Meditation focuses. The dance evokes a fun sweat. Ballet increases strength. Yoga promotes flexibility and balance. And all of it combined evokes a full spectrum of wellness. Marianne keeps classes easy to follow and non-competitive so that everyone participating can truly enjoy his or her experience. The result is fun, sweaty and pretty awesome.

With new instructor Marianne Bochilo. In Marianne Bochilo’s classes, you will experience not just an "exercise" class but have an experience of overall wellness as well.  She is a Bhaki yogini, which means she teaches from the heart. Along with holding a RYT 500 Certification with Yoga Alliance, she holds Certifications in Kids Yoga, Yoga for Breast Cancer survivors from OM Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga through the Integral Yoga Institute. her Yoga Dance Ballet Classes are playful and joyful and the students leave the class feeling invigorated, powerful and peaceful. Marianne is a mother of three who earned her BBA from Hofstra University. All her yoga classes will establish a heart opening and bring peace and balance.

Literacy Nassau's Next Chapter Book Clubs. These small book clubs of 6-8 people offer adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to read for pleasure and socialize in the community. Guided by a pair of trained volunteer facilitators, Literacy Nassau's Next Chapter Book Clubs meet weekly for an hour at select libraries and cafes across Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Saturday Yoga Series 2

Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. Connecting movement with our breath links our awareness to the present. Join  Dorothy Scott for a relaxing yet invigorating class that encompasses basic yoga poses which focus on lengthening the body’s muscles, while expanding the joints as we utilize the breath to gain clarity within.  We will begin slowly to gradually prepare the body for deeper asana (poses) and end it by honoring our practice with a relaxing (meditation) sivasana. 

Bring a mat, and perhaps a towel and water.  Wear loose fitting clothing. Namaste.

Chair Yoga is a very gentle form of yoga which works your muscles and joints to increase flexibility/mobility, circulations, strength and balance.  It helps to firm and tone the body. The movements and postures in chair yoga encourages deep breathing, improved posture and meditation. It is said that chair yoga helps to reduce blood pressure, quicken recovery from injuries or surgery and improves sleep.  Chair yoga is a great way to experience overall well being in body and mind.

With new instructor Marianne Bochilo. In Marianne Bochilo’s classes, you will experience not just an "exercise" class but have an experience of overall wellness as well.  She is a Bhaki yogini, which means she teaches from the heart. Along with holding a RYT 500 Certification with Yoga Alliance, she holds Certifications in Kids Yoga, Yoga for Breast Cancer survivors from OM Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga through the Integral Yoga Institute. her Yoga Dance Ballet Classes are playful and joyful and the students leave the class feeling invigorated, powerful and peaceful. Marianne is a mother of three who earned her BBA from Hofstra University. All her yoga classes will establish a heart opening and bring peace and balance.

A spirited blend of cardiovascular dance, ballet, yoga, Meditation. The Meditation focuses. The dance evokes a fun sweat. Ballet increases strength. Yoga promotes flexibility and balance. And all of it combined evokes a full spectrum of wellness. Marianne keeps classes easy to follow and non-competitive so that everyone participating can truly enjoy his or her experience. The result is fun, sweaty and pretty awesome.

Along with holding a RYT 500 Certification with Yoga Alliance, she holds Certifications in Kids Yoga, Yoga for Breast Cancer survivors from OM Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga through the Integral Yoga Institute. her Yoga Dance Ballet Classes are playful and joyful and the students leave the class feeling invigorated, powerful and peaceful. Marianne is a mother of three who earned her BBA from Hofstra University. All her yoga classes will establish a heart opening and bring peace and balance.

Literacy Nassau's Next Chapter Book Clubs. These small book clubs of 6-8 people offer adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to read for pleasure and socialize in the community. Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. Connecting movement with our breath links our awareness to the present.
