Free Community CPR Class

Come take a free introduction to CPR class at Plumb Library which does not include a certification card, but does come with a certificate of attendance. The instructor, Robert Joyce, has been a Firefighter since 1990, starting on the Rochester Fire department. In 1995 he obtained his EMT certification and has done extensive training ever since. He is currently in charge of EMS education for the Marion Fire department and also works as an EMT field supervisor and educator for Coastal Ambulance, which is the second largest private ambulance company in Massachusetts.

Black History Month George Washington Carver Seek and Find

February is Black History Month. Starting February 5, stop by to learn more about George Washington Carver, a famous black scientist and inventor. 

George devised over 100 uses for peanuts. Each week, one of his creations will be hidden inside the library.  

Each item will be in a different hiding spot each Monday and stay there for the week. Quietly tell a librarian where it is to win a small prize!

George devised over 100 uses for peanuts. Each week, one of his creations will be hidden inside the library.

NEW for 2024 -  Winter and Spring storytime combined! Contact Ms. Lisa for more information about an engaging interactive "lap sit"  storytime for children ages 9 - 24 months on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM from January through March. The 10 week Baby/Toddler Winter/Spring Session begins January 16 and ends March 26. (There is no storytime during February school vacation week.) 

Storytime includes early literacy fun with books, songs, fingerplays, music, movement and more! Caregiver participation is a must!  This is not a drop-in program and space is limited to 10 children.  Pre-registration is required for a 10 week commitment. This program will be held in the downstairs meeting space.

World Bookmark Day - Bookmark Swap

What do you use to keep your place while reading a book? Bookmarks come in all shapes and sizes! They can be made of paper, metal, fabric, beads, ribbons, and so much else. They can be fancy or simple, and just plain fun! Come celebrate World Bookmark Day with us at our free bookmark swap. Got a pile of bookmarks you've picked up from the library over the years? Do you have more bookmarks than you could ever use? Or maybe you usually use whatever is just handy nearby, like a store receipt, and you'd like to have something a little more interesting?
