Adult Winter Reading 2023

Welcome to our ninth annual “Walking into a Reading Wonderland” Adult Winter Reading Program at the Seaford Public Library! We invite all adults (ages 18 and over) to participate. This program has been created to give adults some encouragement to use their library card and get ready to spend those cozy winter nights with a soft blanket, warm mug and a good book!

Adults will be able to register for the reading program ONLINE. To register and to access the book review form, please go to our website: www.seafordlibrary.org and under the Adult tab on the menu bar, click on Adult Winter Reading.  Once you do that, there will be two separate links for you to register and one to submit your book reviews online weekly. You are able to review as many books as you want per week. Each review submitted will automatically be entered towards the grand prizes and weekly prizes. You will also be able to register in-person and submit the books reviews at the Reference Desk.

Registration will begin on Monday, January 9th and the last day to report will be
Saturday, February 25th

Make someone’s day brighter by making a Valentine Pop-Up card!  Have your creation pop out at you in 3D in this creative and imaginative exploration of pop-up cards. Cards will be collected at the end of the program by instructor Chris Vivas who will donate them. Since 1934 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has recognized one song written specifically for a film released during the previous calendar year as worthy of an “Oscar." During this program, we will be able to view archival video clips of the actual presenters and recipients for over a dozen classic songs as well as experience many of the original artists’ renditions as they were first introduced to movie audiences.

Since 1934 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has recognized one song written specifically for a film released during the previous calendar year as worthy of an “Oscar." During this program, we will be able to view archival video clips of the actual presenters and recipients for over a dozen classic songs as well as experience many of the original artists’ renditions as they were first introduced to movie audiences.

Meet new friends and have some fun... Crochet classes have just begun! Come join Pooja Hathiramani and learn how to make a beautiful and useful crochet bookmark! Prior experience is preferred but not required. Please bring along a size E 3.5mm crochet hook to class. All other materials will be provided. Registration begins Wednesday, February 1st .

Join us for a trip to Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT. This trip includes motorcoach transportation and shopping at the Tanger Outlets. Lunch is on your own at one of the many fine restaurants on the property. Pay by check only payable to the Seaford Public Library. This is a shared trip with the Wantagh Public Library. Each person on line may register for one other person. Seaford Library/School District residents only on the first day of registration. Pay by check only payable to the Seaford Public Library. Limited seats available. First come, first served. Each person on line may register for one other person. No refunds unless a substitute can be found from the waiting list.
