Curbside Craft Club: Grab 'n' Go Kits (Ages 9-13) - For the Week of August 9th Pick-up

Featured Craft:

Neko Atsume Inspired Cat Craft

For the months of July & August, Miss Allison will offer a limited number of grab 'n' go craft kits for kids ages 9-13 to take home.  These kits will feature animal-themed projects in honor of this year’s summer reading theme: Tails & Tales!

Due to the overwhelming positive response from families asking for kits these last few months, the week-by-week email registration process will remain in place to allow all families a chance to participate.

1. Kits are available through email registration only. To register, email Miss Allison at ariendeau@ocln.org with the number of kits you are requesting and the child/children’s name(s).

2. Registration for the next week's craft will open every Monday. For example, you would email Miss Allison starting Monday, June 28th, to pick up a kit during the week of July 6-10th.

3. You will receive an email response confirming your registration.

4.  We recommend trying our awesome curbside pick-up service. You can sign up for a curbside time slot any time during the designated week and write "KIDCRAFT" in after your last name in the last name field of the curbside sign-up form. (If choosing to enter the library building for pick-up, please check our homepage to be mindful of browsing restrictions.)

The grab 'n' go kits include most of the supplies needed to complete the projects and instructions (sometimes including links to online and/or video instructions).

Participants are encouraged to share their finished crafts by sending photos to ariendeau@ocln.org or sharing on social media and tagging Sharon Public Library.

Grab n go kits are popular! If you email Miss Allison and there are no more kits available that week she will put you first on the list for the next week's craft. You be notified by email if this happens.

*Please note that Miss Allison makes every effort to provide awesome kits to as many kids/families as possible. Supplies are limited, so we ask that you limit your request to 1 kit per child.

Chapter Book Story Time
11:00 AM - 11:45 AM

Join Ms. Mary Claire for a chapter book story time for kids ages 6-10 on the lawn of the Unitarian Church of Sharon across the street from the Sharon Public Library. As children learn to read and become more proficient, listening to engaging chapter books (even ones slightly above their independent reading level!) can help develop their vocabulary and listening comprehension skills. We'll start the chapter book on the first day and continue through the weeks, but if you have to miss a week, we'll recap what we've read!

Bring a snack, a blanket, and coloring materials. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Space is limited, so registration is REQUIRED.

Featured Craft: Salt Dough Starfish

For the months of July & August, Miss Allison will offer a limited number of grab 'n' go craft kits for kids ages 9-13 to take home.  These kits will feature animal-themed projects in honor of this year’s summer reading theme: Tails & Tales!

2. Registration for the next week's craft will open every Monday. For example, you would email Miss Allison starting Monday, June 28th, to pick up a kit during the week of July 6-10th.

3. You will receive an email response confirming your registration.

Pajama Story Time with Ms. Mary Claire
6:30 PM - 7:05 PM

Snuggle up in your coziest PJs with a stuffie friend for an ALL AGES STORY TIME AT BEDTIME with Ms. Mary Claire to celebrate Summer Reading. We'll wind down for bed while singing songs, reading books, and getting the wiggles out with a Tails and Tales theme. You'll need your imagination and a cozy blanket!

Ms. Mary Claire will be using a noisemaker and a scarf, so feel free to bring your own rattle, shaker, or blankie to use. Come read along and see friends!

Contact Youth Services Librarian Mary Claire O'Donnell for any questions. Please register so you can receive a Zoom link the day before the program.
