A Living Person's Guide to Dying: Digital Estate Planning w/ Nicholas Daviau
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

In conjunction with NIH and NLM, Sharon Public Library presents A Living Person's Guide to Dying, a multi-part speaker series about death and dying, green burials, digital estate planning, and more. Although death is an inevitable reality of life, we often delay conversations about the topic until after the fact--a habit that can create unnecessary stress or confusion about our end-of-life wishes. The Library is seeking to launch an honest, open series of discussions around this important topic.

Tonight, join Nicholas Daviau, Esq. of Daviau Law Offices for a presentation on what "digital estate planning" means, why it is important to consider as part of your overall estate planning process, and how to start planning for yourself.

Author Talk: Ian Kahanowitz
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Author Ian Kahanowitz will discuss his book Baseball Gods In Scandal: Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, and The Dutch Leonard Affair.

Is it an ironic coincidence or natural development that perhaps the second greatest gambling scandal in baseball history occurred a mere six days before the start of the 1919 World Series? On September 25, 1919, a seemingly meaningless game was played between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians, a game that should have faded to a tiny line item on MLB s historical ledger. But Hubert "Dutch" Leonard had other ideas, and nearly seven years later he presented letters written by Ty Cobb and Smoky Joe Wood implicating them in the fixing of and wagering on that game, setting off a chain of accusations, denials, resignations, player transactions, and a power struggle at the top of baseball s power hierarchy that would change the game forever.

Color Your Stress Away
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Do you like to color?  “In a sudden, unexpected, and generally curious development, grown-up versions of the doodle-books used by countless kindergartners have not only become a thing — but the thing, as far as millions of rapt Americans are concerned" said Dugan Arnett of The Boston Globe.

See what all the excitement is for yourself at our monthly Adult Coloring program! We'll have a selection of coloring pages for you to choose from, along with markers, colored pencils and gel pens. Join us for a relaxing evening and color your cares away...

A Living Person's Guide to Dying: End of Life Doulas w/ Jane Moore
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

In conjunction with NIH and NLM, Sharon Public Library presents A Living Person's Guide to Dying, a multi-part speaker series about death and dying, green burials, digital estate planning, and more. Although death is an inevitable reality of life, we often delay conversations about the topic until after the fact--a habit that can create unnecessary stress or confusion about our end-of-life wishes. The Library is seeking to launch an honest, open series of discussions around this important topic.

Tonight, join Jane Moore of International End of Life Doula Association for a presentation about what it means to be or work with an End of Life Doula--a nonmedical professional trained to care for a terminally ill person's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during the death process--for yourself or a loved one.

A Living Person's Guide to Dying: Green Burials
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

In conjunction with NIH and NLM, Sharon Public Library presents A Living Person's Guide to Dying, a multi-part speaker series about death and dying, green burials, digital estate planning, and more. Although death is an inevitable reality of life, we often delay conversations about the topic until after the fact--a habit that can create unnecessary stress or confusion about our end-of-life wishes. The Library is seeking to launch an honest, open series of discussions around this important topic.

Tonight, join a representative from Green Burial Massachusetts, Inc. for a discussion about what green or natural burial is, its environmental benefits, and who to contact if you are interested in a natural burial for yourself.

"Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it." --Haruki Murakami

This project has been funded in whole or in part with federal funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, under Cooperative Agreement UG4LM012347-01 with the University of Massachusetts, Worcester.
