A yoga storytime for ages 3-5 and their grownups! Storytime Yoga is a great way to promote playful, active learning while incorporating a story into movements, and songs to keep wandering minds and bodies engaged throughout the story. Allowing children to move around and act out the story helps keep their attention by immersing them in the story. 

Please bring your SAILS library card in order to check out books with included themed activities to take home.

CANCELLED Parent Child Playgroup

This formalized, weekly playgroup provides children 18 months - 3 years old an opportunity to socialize and play with other children their own age, to experience toys and learning materials and to participate in group activities. 

Playgroup also gives parents and the playgroup teachers the opportunity to observe children in an educational setting and to acquire knowledge about a child's learning style. A playgroup experience provides parents with an opportunity to learn new activities that will stimulate and enhance a child's development. 

Meets weekly, year-round and a commitment to weekly attendance is required.

Sponsored by the Seekonk Library, AHS Early Intervention and your local CFCE grant program. To participate in this grant-funded program, children must reside in Seekonk, Berkley, Dighton, Lakeville, Middleboro, Raynham, Rehoboth or Taunton.

Registration is required. To be placed on the wait list please select "Waiting List" (below) and complete the waitlist preregistration form.

Girls Who Code: The Friendship Code POSTPONED. DATES TBA
START DATE POSTPONED INDEFINITELY
Part book club, part coding club,  Girls Who Code meetings designed for 3rd – 5th graders will focus on designing, reading, coding and exploring together. The club features activities, characters and vocabulary drawn from the best selling book, The Friendship Code. All participants will receive a copy of the book for use for the duration of the program.
 
Each meeting will start with an ice breaker activity, then launch into an overview of 2-3 chapters of the book, a fun “unplugged” activity to reinforce coding vocabulary/terms, and a great online challenge using Scratch. Basic programming skills will be emphasized with a focus on topics that lead to hands-on learning and understanding. 
 
The Club runs for 4 weeks: March 14, 21, 28, April 11 with a celebration party held on week 5, April 18.
 
Facilitated by Katie Truchon, Information Technology/Video Game Design, New England Institute of Technology.

Join us in this hands-on workshop to create your own set in Earth Friendly DIY: Reusable Food Wraps on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 PM. Space is limited; registration is required. Participants should bring an iron if available and optionally bring their own patterned or solid colored cotton cloth. Cloth samples will be provided.
