Creative Science: Volcano! IN-PERSON PROGRAM
3:00 PM - 3:45 PM

Creative Science: Volcano! In-Person Program

Select ONE of the following sessions:

Monday, June 7 • 3 pm - OR - Monday, July 12 • 3 pm - OR - Monday, July 26 • 3 pm

Ages 5-8

See how a volcano is formed and learn chemistry basics, then get messy and create a fizzy eruption! Play clothes recommended.

NOTE: Masks are required. Registration is limited due to space and social distancing requirements.

Summer Garden Floral Arrangements - IN-PERSON PROGRAM
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Fee: $20 per person for materials. 

Join Peggy Garvin of Garvin Gardens as she teaches you how to create a beautiful summer floral arrangement. Supplies will be provided. Please note: The cutoff date to register for this program will be Monday, July 19th in order to have the supplies on hand. This is an in-person program at the library.

Pop-Up Library @ North Terrace Park!

Making Floral Arrangements - ONLINE PROGRAM

There is no cost for this program. This is an online demonstration only.

Peggy Garvin of Garvin Gardens will teach you how to create your own floral arrangements. She will create two different arrangements. A list of plants will be available to create your own unique design. Presented by the Villa Park Garden Club.

Kiwanis Summer Concerts

The Wednesday Concerts begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Ruggard Gazebo on the Prairie Path.

Picnic Cheeses

Celebrate summer with a picnic! Join us for a tasting and tips for a cheese-centric picnic basket (great if you are going to the beach or heading to Ravinia or even just a summer snack attack)! All registrants will receive a suggested shopping list prior to the class so you can taste along at home. Presented via Zoom by Meredith Meder, Certified Cheese Professional.

Intro to Shark Biology for Kids - ONLINE PROGRAM

Great White Sharks: Awareness Inspires Conservation - ONLINE PROGRAM
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

This program provides an overview of the work of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy based in Cape Cod, Ma. The lecture covers a wide range of topics from public perception of sharks to the role of sharks in our marine ecosystem. The ongoing white shark research taking place off the coast of Cape Cod is explained in detail, as well as how that research is connected to white shark conservation. The program wraps up with a discussion on how the presence of white sharks close to shore has specifically affected the Cape Community.
