Pitter Patter Puppets is an interactive puppet variety show sure to entertain children and adults from 2-100 years old.

Songs, silly stories, and audience participation will keep everyone entertained through the whole show.

 The Cape Cod Maritime Museum Young Mariner Program is excited to bring some maritime and seamanship activities to the library. Come join us for a fun filled morning at the South Yarmouth  Library.

• Knot Tying: Try your hand at tying some knots, like the handy bowline or the twisty monkey's fist. Bonus points if you can tie the bowline with your eyes closed!
• Signal Flags: Back before we had radios or morse code, sailors communicated through signal flags. Many are still used today. But dive deeper with us and learn how sailors use to communicate through these flags. Make your own message and try to decode our secret message!

Tide Pool Exploration with Cape Cod Learning Tours ecologist Gil Newton

Join us for either the morning or evening book discussion groups as we discuss Bruno, Chief of Police by Martin Walker. Bruno, a policeman in a small village in the South of France, is a former soldier who has embraced the pleasures and slow rhythms of country life. But the murder of an elderly North African who fought in the French army changes all that and Bruno must balance his beloved routines--living in his restored shepherd's cottage, shopping at the local market, drinking wine, strolling the countryside--with a politically delicate investigation.

The morning group will meet in the West Yarmouth Library (while it is closed to the public) & over Zoom (in a hybrid format).

Black Flags, Blue Waters by Eric Jay Dolin – Wednesday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m.

Eric Jay Dolin is an award-winning Massachusetts speaker and writer of history. We are delighted that he will be coming to Yarmouth in August (Thursday, the 11th at the Yarmouth Senior Center) to discuss the history of pirates on the eastern seaboard of the United States, around Massachusetts, and around the world. To prepare for this visit, we will host a book discussion on Black Flags, Blue Waters, with librarians Stephen Singer and Jane Cain. No sign up required. Orphans of Race Point by Cape Cod author Patry Francis –  Tuesday, August 9 at 11 a.m. at the South Yarmouth Library - outside on the gazebo (or inside if the weather is bad.)  This discussion will be facilitated by Helen Neidermeier, of the Library Board. This is a sweeping novel about life in Provincetown - a coming of age story, a story about friendships and relationships in a vulnerable and beautiful seaside town. Great summer read!
