Freedom from Falls
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

This evidenced-based exercise program has been proven to prevent falls. The 7-week course runs from January 4 - February 22 and will include a pre and post-test, and each session will be a combination of exercises to improve balance, strength and flexibility. Practical information for making your home a safe place will also be included.

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring an exercise mat or blanket. If you have any concerns about participating, please check with your health care provider. Please register. There is a $10 fee for this 7-week course. (Please note: there is no session on February 8.)

Fourth Tuesday Book Group

The Fourth Tuesday Book Group is an informal gathering featuring an open discussion of each selected title and author. An effort should be made to read each book prior to the meeting. The Book Group meets at 7:00 p.m. in a meeting room at the Sewickley Public Library. New members are always welcome. You are invited to attend one particular evening or to join us for the series. Parents interested in learning more about pre-schools, childcare centers, and kindergartens in the Quaker Valley area are invited to attend our annual Open House. Representatives from these facilities will be available to answer questions about their programs. This is a unique opportunity for area parents to investigate educational opportunities for their children. Fall registration for many of these schools begins in February. Stop in to meet the teachers and learn about your options. No registration.

4th Grade Battle of the Books - Team Meeting

4th graders who are interested should have an Allegheny County Library card, form a team of 5, and attend the appropriate informational meeting. The Penguin Book Shop will be at the Kick-off Meetings if you would like to purchase your Battle Books. As always, we will have library books available for check out.  Signup sheets will be available at the Children’s Department or at your school library starting January 2, 2019.
