Join us for our Cooking Club at Sawyer Free Library! Normally each month we pick a cookbook, order copies for everyone to checkout at the Main Desk, everyone chooses a recipe, makes and brings it in. In these times of physical distancing, we are asking folks to make something from a cookbook checked out from our library, or using one they already have (or even, yes, found on the internet!)

THIS MONTH'S THEME: Chocolate!

For February, we will be making something from chocolate! Could be a side dish, dessert or a main course itself!  Savoury or sweet! There will be chocolate-themed cookbooks available for check out, as well!

Greta supports patients with both chronic and acute health issues at her Acupuncture Family Care practice in Gloucester. Educating patients and the community about their health and promoting wellness is a passion for her. She draws from over 15 years of clinical experience, and her studies with various teachers with a foundation in western medicine. She has practiced in a variety of settings, both domestically and abroad.

Mary Oliver was one of America’s greatest, most beloved, and often quoted poets.  She was a prolific and decorated poet whose honors include the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.  Her poetry explores the link between nature and the spiritual world.  Her love of the natural world is the soul of her writing.  In the Mary Oliver poetry offerings, we will read, listen, and discuss some of her greatest hits from her book, Devotions, which features Oliver’s work over five decades from 1963 to 2015.  This program also includes a power point presentation of Mary Oliver‘s life.  90 minute program. Presented by Andrea Brandeis.

Annie Storr presents "Exercises for the Quiet Eye," a program designed to open the moment when someone can fully see the art in front of them. It aims to suspend attention, to quiet the drive to “figure out” and “move on.” This will be a live Zoom presentation. Registration is required and is limited to 24 people. Register here.
