Water Safety for Parents

Summer is about to begin, and so is our time in and near water--whether pools, lakes or oceans.

Water Safety for Parents focuses on how to protect yourself and your family from potential water dangers.

Our speaker, Maria Tumang, will offer facts and information on what potenial dangers and offer talking points with kids about how to what to do to prevent water accidents.  This will give parents a starting point on having a water safety discussion with their children, as well as giving them real “how-to’s” and “what-to-do’s”  to keep their children safe around water. Parents play a big role in their kids’ safety around water and it’s important for each family to know how to discuss and address common water safety rules that everyone must follow,

Maria has been a swim instructor for over 15 years, and have taught babies from 6 months old to school-age kids to adults.  She teaches swimming and water aerobics at the Regional YMCA of Western CT in Brookfield, and was the Aquatics Director at the Regional YMCA in Brookfield.
