Create pastoral settings using watercolor and other water soluble materials. Conduct experiments to learn the unique properties of your art tools and achieve effects that you never thought possible. Three-part program on March 15, 22 and 29 (plan to attend all sessions). Registration required. Register for all three sessions below.
Materials List:
-Watercolor palette, liquid watercolors or tubed watercolor or gouache
-Watercolor paper
-paint brushes, cup of water and paper towels
-table salt
-baby oil or cooking oil
-washable markers
-spray bottle
-pencil
-ballpoint pen
Optional: permanent marker, colored pencils, chalk pastel, crayon and/or oil pastel
Jena Schieb has provided art and STEAM education for students at every age and level in schools and community and cultural organizations for over 15 years. She is owner of the virtual arts education business Art @ Home with Miss Jena, is the Education Manager at Artsmiths of Pittsburgh and Senior Educator at Carnegie Museum of Art. She was previously Director of Studio Art at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Studio Manager for Studio Make PGH. She is working artist, business owner and teaching artist with a Master's Degree in Education.

These programs will be conducted via the free video conferencing software Zoom and a Library staff member will be supervising the session. The Librarian coordinating the event will email each registrant a Zoom meeting invitation before the start of the program. Zoom is available as a free desktop (for Windows, MacOS, and Linux Operating systems) and mobile application for Android and Apple iOS devices. Once Zoom is installed, you will be able to join the virtual Library program.
