Soil Health with Hampden Hampshire Conservation District

Flyer for Soil Health with Hampden Hampshire Conservation DistrictTHIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO MAY 10.

Soil health has become a popular topic in agriculture lately. But what does this really mean? What does this entail? This discussion is an overview of what is going on beneath our feet and how this creates healthy soil, plants and people. We will discuss some fundamental soil health issues as well as composting, soil biology, and mulching. We will end the chat by demonstrating a lasagna garden, which is a really simple (and cheap!) way to create new beds on your property without disturbing the soil.
