The Gallery of the WPL will be open for a special viewing of “The Tide Falls”, a mixed media art show by photographer Sarah Jane Thornington, on Saturday, July 25, 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Sarah’s photographs and artwork in the show are a result of a yearlong project collecting marine debris on Cape Cod beaches and on her travels. She used the trash she picked up as inspiration to create art and documented the project daily for over a year on Instagram @ayearofplastic. This exhibit is timely and important, and that is why we’ve opened the gallery up for families for this one afternoon – please stop in and take a look at the incredible amount of trash she collected and the way she repurposed it into something beautiful.
Masks are required to visit the show; all ages are invited to take a look at this fascinating exhibit.
All ages welcome!! Bring the kids for a seek & find gallery scavenger hunt created by the artist!
Please note: the Main Library will NOT be open. Entrance to the exhibit will be through the front Gallery doors. Call us with any questions.
