Young Story Builders @ Highland Square Library!
Thursdays, January 28-February 25, 10:30 am
Ages 2-4
The story of our time together on Thursday mornings is just one of the many stories we will build and share through storytelling, music, the expressive arts, and more. Our ideas and understandings will come alive through our work with clay, paint, natural materials, and recyclables, and through our limitless creativity.
Note: The programs for young people and their families at the Highland Square Branch Library celebrate creativity, collaboration, and community. In our coming together to learn and grow, we are inspired by the work of the educators of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE by Audrey Niffenegger
This clever and inventive tale works on three levels: as an intriguing science fiction concept, a realistic character study and a touching love story. On the surface, Henry and Clare Detamble are a normal couple living in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. Henry works at the Newberry Library and Clare creates abstract paper art, but the cruel reality is that Henry is a prisoner of time. It's no wonder that the film rights to this hip and urban love story have been acquired.
Read the book/see the movie on our big screen! Join our lively discussion comparing and contrasting films to their book source material.
Second Thursday of the month. Books are available in advance at the front desk.

THE SPACE BETWEEN US by Thrity Umrigar
Set in modern-day India and witnessed through two compelling and achingly real women, the novel shows how the lives of the rich and the poor are intrinsically connected yet vastly removed from each other, and vividly captures how the bonds of womanhood are pitted against the divisions of class and culture.
You’re invited to join us on the second Thursday of each month at 2 pm for a lively book discussion, treats and more! Pick up your copy of each book at the front desk.
