Adult Program

March 15  Nathaniel Hawthorne short stories

Participants will be discussing eight Hawthorne short stories, one Mark Twain novel, and a  20th-century-fiction by Camus.  Dr. Frank Henninger has taught adult education courses for decades, chiefly at the University of Dayton. These seminars are always much enriched by the questions and suggestions of the participants.  This is a continuous course--discussions from one session may continue into the next.  Participants should read the works before the sessions, but anyone unable to do so will be welcome to join the conversation!  Feel free to bring your lunch.

The Nathaniel Hawthorne short stories are: “My Kinsman, Major Molineux,” “Roger Malvin’s Burial,” ”Wakefield,” “Young Goodman Brown,” “The Minister’s Black Veil,” “The Maypole of Merrymount,” “Rappaccini’s Daughter,” and "Ethan Brand.”
