Tired of the same old holiday cookie recipes?  Want to sample a cookie before making a whole batch?  Come to the Library Holiday Cookie Swap, meet fellow neighbors, and bring home recipes and cookies for the holidays.

How it works:

Each guest makes a dozen cookies for every person in attendance, plus an extra dozen for sampling during the event.  (We will let you know a few weeks prior how many cookies to make.)

Package each dozen in take-home containers for guests to take with them.

Bring copies of your recipe to share.

Sit down, enjoy the company while eating and sharing holiday stories.

You’ll also get the opportunity to make your very own book page ornament to take home too!

Jingle Bell Christmas Day Trip -- Saturday, December 12 -- 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.  Cost:  $115 per person

We will start our trip in Burton, Ohio with a relaxing stop at an Amish farmhouse, where Emma will serve us fruit, cheese and some delightful Christmas cookies, along with coffee and tea. Also, she will explain how the Amish celebrate Christmas! Next, time to shop around Burton Square that is home to a number of unique shops such as Valentine Antiques, Lilac Garden and Gifts, Glass Gift Shop (hand-blown), and Burton Antiques Market.  Stop by the Middlefield Bakery that specializes in Amish baked goods.  The Sunrise Farm's greenhouse will be fully decorated for Christmas.

We'll have a traditional Amish Christmas dinner at the home of Rachel, a wonderful Amish cook. After the sun sets, it's off to Lake Metroparks Farm Park to view over 1/2 million Christmas lights.  Our ride?  A horse-drawn wagon (enclosed to keep us out of the elements) will take our party through the park.  What will the horse be wearing?  Jingle Bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way!!

Please register with full payment by October 26th. Caution:  This trip usually fills up fast.
