The title chosen for the 2014 Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child program is Stripes of All Types, written and illustrated by Susan Stockdale. Join us for a family night of “stripes” where we will feature this story, along with songs, crafts and snacks.  Each family in attendance will receive a FREE paperback copy of the book to take home! The Healthy Body, Healthy Home, Healthy Planet Workshop, presented by the Pennsylvania Resources Council is designed to heighten awareness and encourage action around the issue of toxins in our environment.  Learn how to make your own green personal care, home and cleaning products in an effort to avoid exposure to everyday chemicals.

To Somerset and Shanksville, PA

Travel with us from the Baldwin Library to see memorials dedicated to our American Heroes right here in W. Pa.  Honor the heroism and courage of the passengers and crew of this fateful flight on Sept. 11, 2001.  Flight 93 National Memorial is a National Park site with a lasting monument of remembrance.  We will also visit a Flight 93 Memorial Chapel and hear the history of the 100-year old non-denominational chapel dedicated to the heroes of Flight 93.  We'll have lunch at the Oakhurst Tea Room, then visit the Quecreek Mine and the Glades Pike Winery for a wine-tasting to round out the day.

The first day to begin registering will be Tuesday, June 2, and the reading program will run through Friday, August 22, so registration will be on-going! It’s simple – register, read (or be read to), and earn prizes! The more you read, the more you earn!
