3-5 year olds can move and groove their bodies to dance out some favorite early childhood stories like Barnyard Dance Party by Sandra Boynton and Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andrae! Each 45 minute class will begin with simple stretches and warm-ups before journeying into each story and its characters through movement and song.  Parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate with their child!  Registration requested.

Sign up for this program and learn how to turn your yard waste and food scraps into a valuable resource for your garden. This workshop covers the importance of composting, setting up a compost pile, proper maintenance and ways of using finished compost. Participants will receive an Earth Machine Compost Bin with attendance. Preregistration is required.

Children's book author Greg Pizzoli will visit the Baldwin Library as part of the One Book, Every Young Child Reading Initiative!!  Greg's latest book, Number One Sam, was selected as the 2015 title for OBEYC.  The initiative highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers ages 3 to 6, and we are thrilled that our library was chosen for an author visit!  EVERYONE is welcome to attend -- the event is open to the public, and preschool field trips are encouraged!! Every REGISTERED child will receive a FREE paperback copy of the book signed by Greg Pizzoli!  Activity stations based on the book will also be available.

Enjoy a welcome reception at the soda shop room and a guided tour of the wonderful Marx Toy Museum.  Re-live your childhood as you remimisce about the toys you and your friends once had.  Lunch will be served at Bob's Diner, a great hometown favorite where you may sample some delicious homemade pie.  Step back in time as you stroll along Historic Jefferson Avenue while listening to the music of the '50s.  Window shop, have a soda or pick up a special momento to remember your day.  Enjoy a matinee performance of "A Blast from the Past" at the Strand Theatre.  Visit the Del Nerona Museum and enjoy many exhibits of the '50s.  A final stop will be made at the Big Dipper where you can purchase an ice cream treat.  Recall fond memories as you travel home.

Is there anything we can do to discourage deer from destroying our gardens? In this presentation the facts about our 'enemy' and how to use these facts to the gardener's advantage will be discussed. Plants highlighted are those recommended as deer resistant in Western Pennsylvania by Master Gardeners. This is a 25 minute presentation.
