They dream in courtship, but in wedlock wake. - Alexander Pope

Most couples meet face to face before their courtship.  But there are other ways to meet the "Mr." or "Mrs" right.  What happens when you marry after a different kind of courtship?

Ralph Truitt, a wealthy businessman with a troubled past who lives in a remote nineteenth-century Wisconsin town, has advertised for a reliable wife; and his ad is answered by Catherine Land, a woman who makes every effort to hide her own dark secrets.

Copies of the book are now available at the circulation desk in the adult library.

They dream in courtship, but in wedlock wake. - Alexander Pope

Most couples meet face to face before their courtship.  But there are other ways to meet the "Mr." or "Mrs" right.  What happens when you marry after a different kind of courtship?

A hundred years ago, Amina would have been called a mail-order bride. But this is an arranged marriage for the twenty-first century: Amina is wooed by—and woos—George Stillman online. For Amina, George offers a chance for a new life and a different kind of happiness than she might find back home. For George, Amina is a woman who doesn’t play games.

They dream in courtship, but in wedlock wake. - Alexander Pope

Most couples meet face to face before their courtship.  But there are other ways to meet the "Mr." or "Mrs" right.  What happens when you marry after a different kind of courtship?

MEET DON TILLMAN, a brilliant yet socially challenged professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. And so, in the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.
