    Contact: Virginia Swain   508-245-6843   virginia@virginiaswain.com

This intergenerational workshop will offer participants a resource while enjoying the benefit of all ages learning and teaching together to address the challenge of systemic racial injustice. We will use expressive arts and the Imaging Process of Dr. Elise Boulding, Nobel Peace Prize Nominee.

Dr. Elise Boulding and Warren Ziegler created an imaging workshop to motivate behavior in the present by using images of the future. Their theory is that the people of this earth will not be able to create something they haven’t envisioned. As people imagine a positive future, they then can work back into present time to achieve a positive present with a timeline and concrete action steps. Dr. Boulding believed that if we can image a solution to a challenge, the solution will happen after we get practical with a timeline and action steps.

    Contact: Derek Lirange   (508)852-6400   staff@treeworcester.org

In March of 2014 Worcester Tree Initiative hosted a community discussion on Urban Orchards in Worcester. The discussion was fruitful in a number of ways and in the 9 months since Worcester has seen the creation of three new urban orchards/groves, one on Jaques Ave off of Chandler St. and another at the top of Newton Hill, adjacent to Elm Park, and the third in Dodge Park on Randolph Rd.

In this discussion Worcester Tree Initiative would like to share about what we learned in the process of planning and planting these urban orchards with a brief presentation, as well as continue the discussion. We encourage anyone with a desire to see more food growing within the city limits to join the conversation and bring their thoughts to the table.

On February 18th, Youth MOVE Massachusetts will be hosting a listening session for teens and young adults ages 13-20 on mental health and substance abuse services/supports. We want to hear what you think is working in Massachusetts and what areas need to be better!

Are there good supports in your school for students who have substance abuse problems? What has helped you, a family member, or a friend who has had a substance abuse issue and a mental health need at the same time? What do you think Massachusetts should be doing to help young people and families who face these challenges?

Event is free.  Please RSVP to lproulx@ppal.net
