Bloomsday is an annual ramble where participants read through various parts of James Joyce's Ulysses.  Lots of cities around the world have been holding some sort of Bloomsday celebration for decades.  The Worcester version involves readings in several locations approximating the sites visited by the characters of the novel in their own ramble through Dublin, June 16, 1904

The day features a changing cast of characters - much like Ulysses.  Everyone is welcome to read or listen.  Some participants drop in for one or two sessions and those with more stamina (and free time) will make a day & night of it.  Although lectures and performances are incorporated into the Worcester programming leading up to June 16, Bloomsday itself is a celebration of participatory readings - and that's half the fun!

    Contact: Marc Blackmer   (508) 343-0425   marc.blackmer@1nterrupt.com

Every day we hear about malicious hackers stealing credit cards, money, and identities, while cybersecurity seems to be a complicated, technical kind of magic understood only by the uber geeky. We don't believe that has to be the case. The point of a CryptoParty is to help every day people with little to no technical knowledge understand how personal privacy and information are at risk from cyber attacks and to provide the tools to make each one of us and our families more secure. The format of a CryptoParty is one of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and hands-on exercises; this is not a formal class.

CryptoParties are not commercial enterprises. Rather, those of us who host CryptoParties do so because we believe every day computer users can be more secure and we'd love to show you how. We are cybersecurity professionals and hackers who believe that the more knowledge we share, the more secure we will be. The event is free and there are no products to buy. Just bring your laptop and your curiousity, and we'll take care of the rest.

The Silk Road Art Guild presents: The Dance of Life: Land Sea and Sky.  This exhibit will focus on our natural world, its beauty and its fragility.  The world is our only home and we want to celebrate it and preserve it for the generations yet to come.  Our art focuses on the earth from the perspective of that Eastern sensibility which tells us that the life around us is indeed the life within us as well.  Art is the expression of the human response to life as it is lived.  The paintings and weavings shown in this exhibit are the creation of the artists and the natural objects are the creation of time, water, air and earth.
