CHL is an non-profit organization located in central Massachusetts. Community Healthlink is committed to promoting, restoring, and maintaining the physical health, mental health and dignity of adults, children and families in Central Massachusetts who are experiencing mental illness, addiction or homelessness.  Community Healthlink’s services are grounded in the principles of recovery and the belief that every person has the right to choose his or her own recovery path. Community Healthlink uses evidence-based practices and relevant state-of-the-art research aimed at improving the lives of our consumers.

CHL has been asked to host 4 family voice forums over the next year in order to hear from the families we serve, specifically for families who are currently or have been involved in CBHI (Child Behavioral Health Initiative) services. Family Voice Forums are an opportunity to hear from caregivers and young adults regarding their experience with the behavioral health system. Their input provides a critical understanding to the areas of strength and need within the service delivery system. Older youth and caregivers who have had experiences with any of the CBHI services are encouraged to participate. The feedback and themes generated from these meetings will be shared with MassHealth and other stakeholders.

  •          Payment plans
  •          Budgets
  •          Protections
  •          Arrears Management Program
  •          LIHEAP Fuel Assistance
  •          Referrals to Agencies

We also bring other assistance agencies – The agencies below participated in our last event we held in October and we would expect that they would participate again:

  •          Worcester Community Action Council (fuel assistance)
  •          United Way
  •          Salvation Army

  •          EverSource for gas customers

The goal is to increase customer awareness of the financial assistance options they have both with National Grid and through other external resources available in the community.  We look for a location that has the space to host the agencies, as well as, is easily accessible on a bus route for customers to get to.

The strongest group facilitators are prepared, organized and ready for anything that may come their way; from comforting upset participants, to problem-solving transportation challenges to no electricity in the room. However, becoming a skilled facilitator means moving out of your comfort zone. This interactive workshop provides participants with competency-based strategies and tools that when practiced and applied, will help them shape and guide groups to be effective and rewarding. Incorporating research and the best practices from the field of family support, participants will identify their strengths and areas of growth as they develop skills that can be used in facilitating parent groups and professional meetings.
