Toastmasters is an international organization designed to improve communication and leadership for adults. In addition, Toastmasters also offers an 8 week program designed to grow communication and leadership skills in youth. The sessions include lessons as well as active participation to apply the skills taught. Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion at the end of the 8 week program, which looks great on a college application! Please note that you are committing to attend all 8 weeks of the program when registering.
This program is for High Schoolers. Open to ages 14-18.

This is a training session for adults who have successfully completed a library volunteer application. If you are an adult interested in volunteering at the Colleyville Public Library, please submit an application here and you will receive a welcome letter and invitation to attend a training session.

Reading is vital for children to succeed in school and in life, but many of them struggle with reading. What better listener than a friendly, non-judgmental dog from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs program? These programs are growing in libraries across the country and researchers report a rise in reading levels among participating children. Independent readers (grades 1-5) can bring a favorite book from home or choose one from the library, and read it to a furry friend while here at the library!

These hawks, owls and falcons are well trained, and with the assistance of BPRC education specialists, show you what makes them an important part of our environment. To volunteer, please fill out an online application. You will receive an email with a permission slip attached. What better listener than a friendly, non-judgmental dog from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs program? These programs are growing in libraries across the country and researchers report a rise in reading levels among participating children. Presenter George Pavelek is a local urban farmer in Colleyville whose garden has been featured on CBS DFW Channel 11's "Gardening 101." He is interested in helping others learn to successfully grow their own vegetables. This program will begin at the Colleyville Library with an informational presentation and will move to George’s nearby garden for a show and tell of his setup, including the tools and suppliers he uses to make his garden a success.

Join local author Amanda Churchill to discuss her debut fiction novel titled “The Turtle House” about late 1990s small-town Texas and pre-World War II Japan and occupied Tokyo. It’s an emotionally engaging novel about a grandmother and granddaughter who connect over a beloved lost place and the secrets they both carry. The book was inspired by the author’s grandmother, who was a Japanese war bride. The talk will be followed by a book signing and copies will be available for purchase. A light lunch will be provided.
