Come out and join our special guests and community partners as we celebrate Black Heritage in reading, poetry, storytelling and songs.
Monday, Feb. 4 at 5 - 7 p.m.: Mt. Hebron Ministries Praise Team, Delores "Barefooted Poet" Gibson, and local authors Chris "Champ" Napier and Councilman Fred Richardson
Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 9:30 - 11 a.m.: New Life Developmental, Dixon Total Touch Child Care, 7th grade author Jade Robert, and storyteller Carolyn Francis.
Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 9:30 - 11 a.m.: Debra Muro with Holloway Elementary's Choir, author Eleanor Reynold, and Makinde Gbolahan sharing stories and music.
Thursday, Feb. 7 at 5 - 7 p.m.: Huggy Bear da Poet, author and entrepreneur Douglas Chestang, speaker Pastor Joseph Laffiette II, and Robbie Pritchett will do a character portrayal.
AARI is a national literacy initiative ongoing since 1989, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) beginning in 1990, and later endorsed by the International Reading Association.
