British Influences on Westborough's Architecture

Sunday October 6, 2019
1:00 PM until 3:00 PM

Please join R. Christopher Noonan and Luanne  Crosby as we experience a little bit of jolly Olde England’s influence on Westborough's oldest late 18th- and early 19th-century neighborhood. Come learn about the interplay and influences of the British Empire’s architectural traditions on Westborough's buildings, neighborhoods, and even cemetery design.

We will meet at the steps of the library, meander along West Main Street to School Street, experience Forbes Street--owned and named after one of Westborough’s own legacy families--and return to the library by way of Ruggles and Cross Street.

This walk is part of the Westborough History Connections series of programs that this year asks the question, "How Does History Connect Westborough and India?" and finds answers in our common history as colonies under the British Empire.
