Learning in the Library Part 1 [Boston]
Thursday October 6, 2016
9:30 AM until 12:30 PM
Part one and part two are designed to work together. You may come to one or both!
Part 1: Teach People, Not Content: A Patron-Centered Approach to Library Training
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use your patrons’ needs as a guide for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs and materials at your library. Come with an idea for a new class at your library, or use this opportunity to revise an existing training program! We will walk through a step-by-step process of instructional design and discuss how to incorporate principles of adult learning throughout. We will also review key strategies for managing group dynamics during your training sessions.
This session will be held in The Classroom, Community Learning Center on the Mezzanine Level at the Boston Public Library.
If attending both sessions, you must register for each separately and please bring a brown bag lunch.
