The Library is partnering with the Hot Dog Yoga for a special yoga and streching session geared toward older adults, or adults with mobility or health issues that otherwise would prevent them from pacticing traditional yoga.
Senior Stretch is a seated class designed to help participants become more flexible. Stretches are based on basic yoga poses that are easily accessible from a seated position. No prior yoga experience is needed. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. There will be a focus on proper breathing and class will end with a relaxation sequence.
Helen Hughes-Smith has been practicing yoga for over 25 years and is the owner of Hot Dog Yoga LLC. She has studied with numerous yoga schools and has reached the level of a 200 ERT from Yoga Alliance. Her current focus is on making yoga available to people of all ages and all ability levels and believes in modifying and adapting postures to suit individual needs.
