LIBRARIES ROCK! Summer Reading at Baldwin Library

Summer Reading begins June 1 and concludes on August 24.

For children birth through entering 5th grade: Registration begins at our Summer Reading Kickoff Party on June 1 at 6:30 pm (registration required - please see June 1 event listing) and is ongoing throughout the summer. Children earn tickets and tokens for time spent reading: tickets for chances to win end-of-summer reading prizes, and tokens they can enter into charity boxes of their choosing to help "give back" to those in need. We conclude our program with our end-of-summer BBQ on August 24 at 6:30 pm (registration required - please see August 24 event listing).

For teens: Calling all teens in grades 6-12 to register for teen summer reading! Every 50 pages read earns you a raffle ticket for more chances to win awesome gift cards and YA books!

For adults: For every book read, simply fill out a reading slip and drop it in our raffle basket. There will be a weekly gift card drawing throughout the summer!

Please register for summer reading in person at the library.  We look forward to seeing you!

Butterfly Project
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, together with the Allegheny County Library Association, will present a meaningful, intergenerational program. Participants will learn about children who died in the Holocaust, and each participant will receive a card with the story of a specific child. They will then paint a butterfly, inspired by the story of that child. Butterflies will be displayed in our library! It is our hope that the butterflies will be visible across the city! This program is recommended for students in grade 4 and up, teens and adults. Registration required.
