This is a meditation series designed for beginners.  Our guide is a Buddhist monk, but the meditation techniques taught are secular and are appropriate for all adults regardless of beliefs or religious affiliations.

An intergenerational music club with a different theme each month! In October, we are reliving the music from our darker days.  Bring along 2 favorite songs (in any format) that you listen to when you're feeling sad, angry or otherwise emotional. Let's get dark, man.

Relax and renew your body, mind, and spirit in a Kripalu style hatha yoga class with Yoga instructor, Yamuna Morgenstern.  All bodies welcome.  No previous yoga experience expected or required.  Please bring your own matt. Ideally, we'll hold class outside in our beautiful garden as long as the late summer weather holds. When the days get colder we'll be in our downstairs program room.

This class is held before regular library hours, so normal library services won't be available until after class.

Want to know more about email? This course will teach you how to create an account, send and receive messages, attach pictures, create and organize folders, and lots more. The course is based on Gmail, but the concepts are the same no matter what provider you use. Establishing an email account is the first step in applying for a job as most online job applications require an active email account.  And we can help you get started! Please call the library to register.

The Helping Children Tomorrow Club will provide tutoring help for children ages 5-12. The club will be at the library every other Wednesday in the Children's Department Art Room. Children must have homework to work on during the hour.

The Helping Children Tomorrow Club is a student-run club at Fox Chapel High School. The students are dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and giving back to the community.

Come to the library to create your own pressed flowers designs.  We'll have inspirational photos to look at, so don't worry if you're not an artist!  Adults only but all levels welcome.  By the end of the night we'll have botanical art that you can proudly display in your own home.

Join us for our newest non-traditional book club for those in their 40's-and-under. Great conversation, food and drinks! The last Tuesday of the month (though we're meeting one week earlier since next week is Halloween!) we'll meet at Luke and Mike's to discuss Queen of the Night while we drink and eat together. Stop in for a copy or request one for yourself. 

This is a collaborative exhibition exploring the work and life of writer/artist Sandra Gould Ford with photographer LaToya Ruby Frazier. Ms Ford worked as a clerk/secretary at the Jones and Laughlin Steel Company in the mid 70’s-80’s. Photography was banned, but Ms Ford covertly photographed inside the plant before and after it closed capturing life inside the mills. Included is an archive, Ford collected on the history of the mill. Ms Gould will be our docent. Ms. Frazier has made many of the prints as cyanotypes, “19th century photographic process that renders images in shades of blue, referencing an architect's blueprint and the idea of “blue collar” work. Early cyanotypes of plants were used as scientific records by botanists, creating images that fell between document and artwork.”

This knitting group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday every month. Beginners are welcome. Bring a project to work on. Please register online and join us for an evening of crafting!
