We meet monthly, day and time will vary according to the activity. This is an adult only (ages 18+). This month, we're headed to the Frick Mansion for a docent-led tour of their current exhibit - Undressed: A History of Fashion in Underwear. The Frick Art & Historical Center is a cluster of museums focused on the life and times of Henry Clay Frick (Gilded Age). This will be a docent let tour in The Frick Art Museum. The fascinating and sometimes controversial story of underwear design from the 18th century to the present day is told in this blockbuster exhibition organized by London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. Taking a serious look at an alluring subject, Undressed illustrates how undergarments reflect society’s changing ideas about the body, morality, and sex, and examines the intimate relationship between underwear and fashion and its role in molding the body to an always changing fashionable ideal. Organized into thematic sections that explore such ideas as relaxation, revelation, temptation, transformation, and performance, Undressed looks at how our undergarments shape our bodies, and reveal things about ourselves. Address: 7227 Reynolds Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15208 REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. The Cooper-Siegel Community Library and Sharpsburg Community Library will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.
