Community Read Rock Walk
3:45 PM - 6:00 PM

The kickoff event for the 2023-24 Community Read is a gorgeous ~2 mile hike up to the top of Rollstone Hill in Fitchburg! Peter Capodagli will lead participants in the walk, explaining the stories and history of the Boulder, the quarries, and other sites along the way.

This event is free and open to the public. The difficulty level of the hike is considered moderate. 

No registration required; hikers will meet at Boulder Art Gallery, 960 Main Street in Fitchburg at 3:45 p.m. Rain date is 9/28.

Songwriting+Playing the Ukulele With Jodie

Hey Teens!

Visitand learn the basics of Songwriting with our local Ukulele instructor, Ukulele J, in her downtown studio!

Write a song as a group, and then learn how to play it with ukuleles! The Ukuleles and writing materials will be provided.

Special feature: The first 5 teens or tweens to show up will get a free tambourine to take home with them after the event!

Fall Garden Cleanup - Hands-on Workshop

Join us for a hands-on Fall Garden Cleanup Workshop! Help the library get ready for our big move while you get some hands-on experience from an expert, and take a plant home with you!

Ingrid from Ingrid's Gardens will be here to teach you a fall garden clean-up routine, things took look for, plant dividing, and plant ID. 

Wear your garden or work gloves! If you have garden tools you would like to bring you may; some tools will also be on hand to borrow.

We will be working in the inner garden, and along the outside wall on Newton Place.

The rain date for this class will be the following Saturday, October 7.

10/19: Art Time - Create a no-mess "smush" painting.

10/26: Play Time -   Dress up in your Halloween costumes and join us for unstructured play time in the Garden Room.
