Cover imageThe Tuesday Book Group will discuss Ways of Going Home, by Alejandro Zambra. A book half about growing up in Chile during the Pinoche regime of the 1980s, and half about the process of writing a story about growing up in Chile during the Pinoche regime. Kirkus says it’s “a metafictional layer cake of political, technical and poetic reflection--short, deft and striking.”

Free and open to the public, no registration required. New readers welcome.

Blink: the power of thinking without thinking   by Malcolm Gladwell

Blink is about the first two seconds of looking- the decisive glance that knows in an instant.  Gladwell makes a case for the power of snap judgments and mind reading, translating his research into splendid storytelling.  The best selling author of "The Tipping Point" and "The Outliers" offers more food for thought.

Award-winning food writer Wilson, provides a wonderful and witty tour of the evolution of cooking around the world, revealing the hidden history of everyday objects we often take for granted.  Knives, forks, pots and pans, are a jumping off point for discussions of history, science and anthropology. Truly a book to savor.
