Maia Chrupcala, from Northbound Pound Puppies, will be here to explain the process of rescuing animals from Alabama and bringing them to their foster and forever homes. From finding abandoned dogs in the south, to rescuing unwanted pets from around here, Maia and her rescue team really go the distance in supporting adopting dogs. We will also have therapy dogs on hand to meet and greet while learning the proper way to handle and meet dogs for the first time. Just in time to help celebrate Adopt A Dog month, Maia can help you learn about the process and requirements in doing so.

During this engaging and lively lecture, the doctor will present a simple and effective technique for using meditation to manage stress. Post is a chiropractic physician and health care consultant; he has been a practitioner of meditation for over 35 years.

Newport Interior Decorator Jan Girouard comes to Newport Public Library for today’s program, “Decorating For The Way You Live.”   Her appearance is part of the NPT Books and Authors Series.

Jan has been a resident of Newport for the last 21 years.  She recently celebrated her 13th year in business as owner of the interior design company All About Redecorating. She has visited the library before, explaining how to use existing furnishings and how to buy new furnishings.  Local residents may have seen her work in a variety of area magazines and newspapers.   

Jan has held seminars on Real-Estate Staging at the RI Home Show. In 2006 and again in 2008, she also participated in the Newport Showhouse Guild.  

This program is open to the public and includes a Q&A.  Registration is not required, but seating is limited.
