Meet Geologist Jeff: The Geode Guy
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

It’s your chance to meet Geologist Jeff Smith, a.k.a. The Geode Guy, who will be visiting our library to present a hands-on, interactive earth science program about rock groups and minerals with a special emphasis on geodes! His hands-on program will take students to Mexico and underground to an active geode mine and provide them the opportunity to view crystals and geodes.  Geodes, ranging from $3 to $7, will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the program. Registration required.

Yoga for Kids with Ms. Leah

Students in grades 2-5 can join Leah Younkins, BWSD Special Education Teacher and Registered Yoga Teacher, for a non-competitive 45 minute yoga class incorporating asana, breath work and a short meditation! Practice will be beginner friendly and fun! Class size will be limited to 12 students per class to provide individualized attention and instruction. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat/towel and water.  Registration required for each class attending.

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Members of the Baldwin Board of Trustees are volunteers who donate their time and service to the library and it’s role in the community. The Board sets policy, fiscal goals and strategic direction in support of the Library’s mission and vision.

Baldwin Borough Public Library's Board of Trustees is composed of seven citizens of the community, appointed by Baldwin Borough Council. They serve 3-year terms and may be reappointed. The Board meets monthly at 7pm on the third Thursday of each month at the Library and all meetings are open to the public.

Paws for a Cause with Animal Friends

Family & Community Learning with WQED: PBS Kids ScratchJr Workshop

The PBS KIDS ScratchJr program series is designed for families with children ages 5-8 (siblings welcome) and introduces coding to children by giving them a chance to create their own animated stories using PBS KIDS characters. At each session, we will Eat (dinner for all families will be provided), Explore (hands-on exploration of series goals, Make (families work together to create their own projects on the PBS KIDS ScrachJr app and Share (families share out ideas, learn from one another and build a sense of community). Registration required and includes all four sessions. Registration begins October 22 and is available to 12 families.
Monday-Thursday, November 26 (What is a Maker?), November 27 (What is Coding?), November 28 (What is the Design Engineering Process?) and November 29 (Celebrating Families) from 6-8 pm

Teen Pizza Pizzaz

Students in grades 6-12 will enjoy working alongside classmates, learning techniques to make Margherita pizza from scratch.  We’ll get hands-on and cover all the basics such as rules for handling knives, how to read and follow recipes, measuring and mixing, and the importance of kitchen safety. Pizza sampling will be available. Pizzas will be taken home oven-ready! Please check the website for items to bring to class. Registration required.
