PBS KIDS Family Creative Learning Workshop - Health and Nutrition
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

PBS KIDS Family Creative Learning is a series of workshops that focus on learning through creative play and exploration! The STEM based, multi-generation engagement program is created for children ages 5-8 (younger/older siblings are welcomed) and is designed to activate creative and collaborative learning using PBS KIDS media and resources. Each session is divided into four areas: EAT, EXPLORE, MAKE and SHARE! Families will enjoy a delicious catered dinner, work together on Health & Wellness themed projects and share with one another.

  • Session 1: Nutrition - April 4
  • Session 2: Fit and Fun (exercise) - April 11
  • Session 3: Healthy Habits - April 18
  • Session 4: Safety and Health - April 25

A facilitator from WQED will be available to instruct and support families as they work together. This is a grant-funded program sponsored by The Jefferson Regional Foundation. Registration for the April 4 workshop will include all four workshops.  Participants must be able to attend all four workshops.

A storytime specifically geared for toddlers who are 24-36 months old with a caregiver. We will read great stories, sing songs, and have plenty of music, movement, and fun that encourages your toddler’s language and development skills! Caregivers are encouraged to actively engage in activities with their child!

AARP Safe Driving Course

This two day safe driving course is for anyone over the age of 50. You may be eligible for a discount from your car insurance company after completing it. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members, payable during the 1st class to the instructor.  Registration is required, as seating is limited.

Paws for a Cause with Animal Friends

We welcome Animal Friends back to the library for our Spring program lineup! Attracting Butterflies and Hummingbirds to Your Garden with Susan Salis

Butterflies and hummingbirds are both aesthetic and ecologically useful additions to the garden. What flowers and shrubs are butterfly and hummingbird magnets? This talk will focus on how the home gardener can attract a variety of butterflies, as well as the Ruby-throated hummingbird, the only hummingbird to nest east of the Mississippi River.

Meet Speech-Language Pathologist Jill Shook

Jill Shook, MS, CCC-SLP is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist and mom who loves helping parents and caregivers learn more about their child's language development! She has provided fun, evidence-based speech-language therapy services since 2011, and has extensive experience in literacy-based interventions for many speech and language disorders, including articulation disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency (stuttering) disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, intellectual disabilities, aphasia, Traumatic Brain Injury, and speech and language delays. Registration required.
