Math Boot Camp: Algebra 2

These 3 math porgrams are for students looking for something more in their mathematics careet, those wanting to get ahead and learn something new.  The are also suitable as review courses for students looking for a brief summary before they start the following school year.  Students will improve their mathematical and problem-solving abilities in these rigorous courses.

  • Algebra I - grades eligible: 5-9
  • Algebra II - grades eligible: 6-10
  • Trigonometry - grades eligible: 7-10

Due to the limited space, diagnostic tests are required for each program and will be held on May 19 at 1-2:30 PM, and May 21 at 7-8:30 PM.  Each test wil be 30 minutes.  Students may take up to two tests and on only one date.  A lottery may be held if the number of qualified students exceeds the capacity of the program.

We will teach some basic skills and shortcuts to help students create professional and aesthetically pleasing documents and presentations. We will also go over ways to make rapid computations and manage data sets in Excel.

The transition between elementary and middle school is tough in all aspects. One specific part is the constant presentations, both on the spot or memorized. We are aware that public speaking is difficult for many kids; We’ve been through it ourselves. Our goal is to make things easier for the kids. Speech is an aspect that will stay with children throughout their lives! In addition to public speaking in general, we will be covering how to write a speech and basic debate structure.

Speech is an aspect that will stay with children throughout their lives! In addition to public speaking in general, we will be covering how to write a speech and basic debate structure.

  • have students analyze articles and write a debate

 This program will teach children how to maintain a healthy lifestyle while managing stress, peer pressure, and academics. Metta   will consist of fun, engaging mind and body classes that will incorporate yoga as well as group discussions and activities.

 Target age for this program is 7 to 12 years old.
