AARP SMART DRIVING COURSES

JULY – DECEMBER, 2014

If registering on the first morning, please remain in a straight line outside the building and enter in line to sign in for registration.  Registration remains open until class fills.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

  1. You  may sign up for yourself and a spouse OR HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR CHOICE SIGN YOU UP WITH A COPY OF YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE, AARP CARD (IF USING)  AND YOUR CHECK.   Check is made payable to AARP: $20 for members, $25 for non-members.   Please note:  a representative may sign up only one other person, not multiple persons.
  2. Separate checks are required:  one person, one check.  Do not write a check for more than one person - we cannot accept it.
  3. Limit – 32 persons; priority to NHP-GCP S.D. #5 and Village residents.  Out-of-district residents may call after the registration begins to be placed on an out-of-district waiting list.
  4. Only those registered for the class may be in the room. If you have a family member requiring attention, please make suitable arrangements.  Library policy prohibits unattended children under the age of 12 in the building.

The Starring Role of the Arts in World War II Grant Received by Hillside Public Library

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the start of  World War II, a war that was supported on both the home and battle fronts by the arts as expressed in paintings, comics, literature, film and music.  

The Comics Fight World War II, Thurs., Oct. 9, 2pm, Kent Worcester, professor and author, offers a slide/lecture on comic strip favorites from that era showing  their perspective on the war.

 This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the NYS Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature and is administered by The Huntington Arts Council, Inc.

AARP SMART DRIVING COURSES

JULY – DECEMBER, 2014

If registering on the first morning, please remain in a straight line outside the building and enter in line to sign in for registration.  Registration remains open until class fills.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

  1. You  may sign up for yourself and a spouse OR HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR CHOICE SIGN YOU UP WITH A COPY OF YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE, AARP CARD (IF USING)  AND YOUR CHECK.   Check is made payable to AARP: $20 for members, $25 for non-members.   Please note:  a representative may sign up only one other person, not multiple persons.
  2. Separate checks are required:  one person, one check.  Do not write a check for more than one person - we cannot accept it.
  3. Limit – 32 persons; priority to NHP-GCP S.D. #5 and Village residents.  Out-of-district residents may call after the registration begins to be placed on an out-of-district waiting list.
  4. Only those registered for the class may be in the room. If you have a family member requiring attention, please make suitable arrangements.  Library policy prohibits unattended children under the age of 12 in the building.

The Starring Role of the Arts in World War II Grant Received by Hillside Public Library

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the start of  World War II, a war that was supported on both the home and battle fronts by the arts as expressed in paintings, comics, literature, film and music.  

Art Infiltrates World War II, Tues., Oct. 28, 2pm, art historian Louise Cella Caruso focuses on the pin-up art essential to keeping up the spirits of the soldiers while promising a return to home.  

 This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the NYS Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature and is administered by The Huntington Arts Council, Inc.

If registering on the first morning, please remain in a straight line outside the building and enter in line to sign in for registration.  Registration remains open until class fills.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

  1. You  may sign up for yourself and a spouse OR HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR CHOICE SIGN YOU UP WITH A COPY OF YOUR DRIVER’S LICENSE, AARP CARD (IF USING)  AND YOUR CHECK.   Check is made payable to AARP: $20 for members, $25 for non-members.   Please note:  a representative may sign up only one other person, not multiple persons.
  2. Separate checks are required:  one person, one check.  Do not write a check for more than one person - we cannot accept it.
  3. Limit – 32 persons; priority to NHP-GCP S.D. #5 and Village residents.  Out-of-district residents may call after the registration begins to be placed on an out-of-district waiting list.
  4. Only those registered for the class may be in the room. If you have a family member requiring attention, please make suitable arrangements.  Library policy prohibits unattended children under the age of 12 in the building.
