What are the options for custom messages and email templates for room requests?
+

Admin users are able to create custom messages and emails for room requests.  These messages will appear in the emails sent to the patrons after they request a room using EKRooms.  Here is how you customize these messages.

  1. Login as admin
  2. Click on the admin page button at the top of the page
  3. Under organization information click edit
  4. In the table of contents, click on custom email abbreviations
  5. This will open up a new screen with lots of blank fields.  At the bottom of this screen is a list of tags you can use to create a custom email.  Follow the example that is given to you.
    • Description: patron confirmation email
    • Abbreviation: ek_message
    • Data: whatever you would like the email to say

Approval

If you are approving a room use request, you may define a custom ekr_approval_msg to be sent as the message in your approval email.

If a custom approval is not specified, a built in, default message will be used.

Denial

If you are denying a room use request, you may define a custom ekr_denial_msg to be sent as the message in your denial email.

If a custom message is not specified, a built in, default message will be used.

Generic

You may also specify a generic message called ekr_message which will be used in place of either of the default messages when a custom message is not specified.

With the availability of the custom approval and denial messages, this generic message is less useful but is still recognized to support existing uses.
